i did the mixing thing once to save time about 18 years ago and puked for hours. bleach does work well though, i used it for years.

but really for $15-$20 you should be able to get some reclaimer that will be maid outta soy and last for a lot of screens.

we used to use bleach at AIR. had to let it sit on the screens for about 30-45 minutes.

if you are reclaiming more than one screen it's better. plop a screen down horizontally, pour on some bleach and use a rag to make sure all of the mesh is nice and wet, repeat with the othee side. then sit the screen print side (not squeegee side) up, wet the next screen and plop that sucker onto the first screen print side down so that the two screens are all kissyface sticking together. this helps make sure that the bleach stays in contact with the mesh and emulsion as well as preventing too much dry out.

if you can't do that, then keep wetting the screens every 10 minutes or so until they're done.

ps-wear clothes that you don't give a hoot about.

Or you could just plan ahead and order more before you run out! I guess I am spoiled to live in a major city with multiple screen printing supply places. God bless McBee's.

Try hydrogen peroxide.

If you can find Pieriodic Acid that's what's in Pro Remover.

PS. Just buy the stuff.

Yeah that would work if he didnt live in the mountains....Drew is a good friend of mine and he is new to printing at home. He is actually prepping screens that we will be printing with tomorrow. Ive actually always used bleach, if you use a spray bottle, cover both sides with a mist let sit for 2-3 minutes and then mist with a pressure washer, the water that trickles down will activate the bleach and you can watch the emulsion lighten up. then hit it hard with a pressure washer and it cuts through it like a hot knife on butter. I like the mountain mist scent of bleach....although I really hate bleach, it burns my nose.

i've loved using the soy products from Franmar. And when my bottle gets half full - I fill it back up with water and it still works just as good. 2 bottles for one, if you will. I really recommend this stuff....
