Washing Out Acrylic Stains?

Hi

just tried printing with Golden Acrylic system for the first time. Fantastic print quality but horrendous staining on the screen.

The ink blend is Golden Carbon Black with Golden silkscreen medium.

I washed the screen out immediately with soap and hot water and a nail brush. The mesh isn't blocked at all, it's just a really dark cloudy stain that wouldnt come out.


Any ideas on:

- how to wash the screen better at the time

- how I can get the stain out now?

I don't mind ghost images on the screen but this makes it hard to see the stencil.

water, a little soap and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser might work. does for me most of the time.

Use fantastic instead of soap next time.

Fantastic is a household cleaner that does a great job on acryllics. Mostly it the ammonia in it.

It not a generic name is a registered trademark, but yes those are it. I'd get the straight one with out any flavor.

probably it's this one: Fantastik® All-Purpose Cleaner- 1 Gal, Multi Purpose Cleaners

here we can get it in the spray bottles just about everywhere. it's a screenprinter's pal as it help unclog drying out stencils during a run without killing your emulsion as long as you don't use a ridiculous amount of it.
