how do YOU sign your stuff?

In college I took a lot of art classes. Both my photo teacher and my digital arts teacher wanted us to sign name, edition number and the title of the piece on the front. I was doing that (minus the title part,which I find kind of lame) until recently. A friend of mine that is a framer for a very serious art gallery told me that all the printmakers that show work there are signing and numbering their pieces on the back--so I started doing that. I liked that solution except that at my art show I had to repeatedly hear "are these signed?" "Why don't you sign the front?"
