"Number.....Title..........Name with '08 or whatever year"

Nobody bothers with the title though. Or rarely anyway. Front or back. Sometimes doing it on the front kinda F's up a clean print.

I have to do this everyday. We have a trick to speed up some big editions. We hold up the name corner for the whole stack and just drop one at a time, signing as we go. This way your not wasting any time moving paper around. Takes two peole tho'.

Enh, I use a fancy stamp with _____ of _____ on the back, which I fill out.

A little thing I learned from mister Lonny Hurley.

i only sign copies of posters purchased (or otherwise obtained) directly from me. i don't do editions and i don't number or date. beware any of my posters that have numbers or dates on them, because i didn't sign them. they're fake sigs.

i usually sign in pencil, because that's what i learned to do in art school. i guess that way, collectors can erase it if they desire.

old school psych poster collectors like to have ball point pen signatures for some reason.

most current gigposter collectors seem to prefer sharpie signatures.

if anybody ever says to me, "make it big and sloppy anywhere you want", i sign it about a foot high smack dab in the middle of the piece. that really pisses them off and destroys the collector value of the poster. what? are you gonna ask for your money back? from whom? i laugh - HAHA!

I keep meaning to do this... I even have one designed and ready to get made... just have to get it together and actually do it...

I've been doing this though since day 1:

I like that... signing and numbering (gigposters) is really annoying to me. Especially if the edition is more than 30.

Number lower left, signature lower right. Unless the print is full bleed and there is art in the way. Then I sign wherever I can find room.

Always in pencil.

Really though... I can totally see signing and number art prints... but... why gigposters if at the core they are just ads?
