Default Ruby v. Amber-- key differences?

I ordered a roll of Amberlith this weekend for cutting seps, and I got a roll on my doorstep this evening. Except by mistake they shipped me Ruby.

I emailed the company just now to find out what I should do and if they actually have the Amber in stock. But in the meantime I'm wondering if you guys can tell me the key differences between the two. I had heard that Amber is better for cutting detail than Ruby, which is a concern for me as I would like to get fairly detailed in my cuts. Is this true, or are they pretty much the same? Are there any other differences besides the fact Amber's supposed to be easier to see through?

Thanks!

Ive seen good cuts on both. the amberlith doesn't seem as crispy/crucnchy as the red. there are other companies make the same products.

One thing about either - keep it sealed in the tube. If you leave it out, it gets harder to cut and peel, and when you do, it leaves a residue which will burn on a screen (faint orange/red)

I use both, Ruby seems easier to peel to me. I haven't noticed much of any other differences except that you can see through the amber better. Any red residue from either (which is usually a sign of old age as Andy knows) can be cleaned up with a little alcohol. Like a lot of things

.bingo. Amber is a little thinner. They're basically the same though.

I remember when we used to have to chisel stone before rubylith.
