Ink Buildup w/ Transparents.

Hey Printers,

Whats your experience... Let's say i wanted to throw down about a 40% Transparent White overprinted on Darks (black/ deep navy) Do you usually find a bit of a buildup with it? Any advice on how much to account for? ie, if i wanted a print at 45% should i notate it in a sep as 35%?

Are you talking about printing on paper or fabric?
I don't notice too much of a build up with the 230 mesh.
Somewhat with 156 and lower.
Stencil thickness and mesh count are the determining factors here.

that's a good question,

the solution i would suggest is name your files as you did and try to tell/work with the printer to what you are trying to achieve.

there are factors in screenprinting that will give you differnt results like screen thread count and how much you thin your ink, thats why you can't really give a percent, you'll have to do some test prints to work out the right transparecy.
