House Paint

Just finished up my first run of house paint prints. Turned out great! I used a flat base but have read in various threads that a gloss or semi gloss is preferred. Why? Pure looks or for function? I did add about 25% speedball acrylic to darken and thicken things up. Did 130 prints 19"X25" with no gumming or clogging...without floetrol. Anyone else ever leave out the additives?

Flat seems to scuff pretty easy.

I usually just mix with speedball. For me it's more about using what I have on hand to mix a desired color than achieving any certain consistency. I've not really run into any problems yet. (knock wood)

I only tried it once, and it was an utter fail. But I WANT to believe that housepaint works... if only because I want the color range without mixing.

I've only used it a couple times and that was cause I didn't have time to order more speedball at the time, worked awesome for me. Especially black house paint, as it's not a chalky looking/feeling as the Speedball stuff.

I used semi gloss for the flames in my Burning Brides poster and speedball for the black. Came out awesome.

edit* - I also made a swatchbook from the paint sample things that I match to my printouts to make sure I get the colors I want.
