So what is Floetrol exactly?

As in whats is composition or other uses it may have? I want to do a print using regular acrylics and I need something to act as a thinner/retarder but I've been to every art store around and all they have is really overpriced gel's and mediums that I dont even think really aplly to screenprinting. No one there can help me out on this anyway, its like screenprinting is some really technicall thing made only in these specialised places that needs super special inks or something, I get weird looks everytime.

Everyone here seems to talk about adding floetrol for all sorts of inks not just plain acylics but the thing is that name brand doesnt exist here so I have to look for a similar product. What exactly is it made of and what is it made for? Is it originally for art purposes or does it have other uses?

Help me out! I'm kind of lost here...

Floetrol is paint conditioner that stops it from drying too fast. Its sold at Home Depot. Or any other major hardware store.

HAHAHA, you can find it with all the industrial paint sprayers in your local hardware stores, it's thins it just a bit to help "flo" through the sprayer.

Their are lots of options for controling your flow. Contact an ink distributor in you country and they'll have options for you. In a pinch... use water (distilled, not mineral). I only use water as a retarder/flow control.

But is it good for acrylics, artsy brands, or just latex paints? I think I'm gonna go with the house paint thing, acrylic or latex house paint?

I think they had me on this stuff when I was in the hospital. Morphine wasn't working, so they gave me this stuff.
