tell me this is wrong/stupid, or not?

I'm going to be printing onto some dark shirts. I want to print this bright golden yellow color. I print waterbased acrylic. I don't have a press. So I can't really print a base white and then yellow, because registration issues.

so I came up with this brilliant plan...

I'm thinking about trying to print it wet over wet- on one screen, opaque white at one end, golden yellow on the other. do one flood stroke down with the white, then hard stroke back to the top. then a flood stroke of yellow, and a softer pull on the way down.

will it work?

it wouldn't matter it the white gets a little yellow in it, but it would be better if the yellow is pretty thick...

advice? experience?

wouldnt you have to go up and down with one color, and left and right with the other?

yeah something like that, up down/ left right, either way it would be 2 squeegees and ink pools on one screen....

if you end up pulling in two different directions i am pretty sure your image will blur.
can you just do yellow- flash -yellow? it should be opaque enough after that.

Would not work. Sorry. If the white isn't dry, the Yellow would just mix with it.

I think the Print>Flash>Print won't work for him, since he doesn't have a press.

Can't you do opaque yellow (I know Nazdar makes some) and off-contact, would that get enough ink on the shirt?

The Nazdar stuff covers darks stuff pretty well, but you have to work fast because it gums up the screen pretty quickly.

really, you could do 2 pulls. one white and one yellow. all you have to do is add some weight to the lines of the second to make a trap. printing white on a black shirt will mean that even if your just sitting the screen on the shirt to print it...you shoud be able to see through the screen to register it. then just have a friend hold in place and pull.
