How important is the floetrol? And I gather that Latex is the way to go. I ran out of ink, and cant wait for deisel to send me some, so off to home depot today.

Any more suggestions would be most appreciated

go to sherwin williams, buy the color you want, dump it in your screen and print. Just be sure to flood entirely after each pull and you'll be good. I have never done anything BUT that and it works fine for me.

I am intrigued by Nate saying semi-gloss straight from the can works fine for him. I think if I mention this to Jim he will become all "screen protector guy" and not want to try it but we may have to since Nate's posters seem a bit smoother than ours.
I actually use matte 99% of the time. We print fast, and use nothing added to the ink at all. Just sherwin williams interior flat paint, mixed to the color I want. It dries to the touch as soon as you pull it off the press so you dont need a rack or anything either.

Ocassionally it dries up a little, but since its water based, all you do is wet a rag and wipe out the clogged areas under the screen, pull a few tests until it is back to normal, then continue.

I'll try the pure paint Nate, I can always add retarder if I have trouble.
we normally use 230 280 or 305.

With all my years of printing I've never actually used house paint to screen-print with. I would like to start to experiment with it a bit. I have read some of the other threads and it seems helpful. But I was specifically thinking about some bright pop colors on Black paper. I'm never really 100% happy with speedball screen-print colors on black paper so I'd like to try house paint to see if it works better. Has anyone tried this? Any suggestions?

Ive tried to print on black paper with both red and yellow housepaint, but it was rather transparent
