I did a 30 colour 300 run a few years ago - Randy Owens art print of Dale Earnhart's 8 hr endurance race at Daytona the day before he died. But I used the one arm, so that's kind of cheating.

machine? we had an 18,000 2 colour order last December. they run at 500-600 per hour, and i gots me flunkies to printz dem too, to keep the press going.

My first auto was bought when I bid a 20x27 6 colour 6000 run of cling vinyl. I was going to do it by hand, then realized I could buy a press and still make money and do the job in less than half the time. An Alfra - sweet German press. It's pushing 40 years old and still running at the place I sold it to. Love that Kraut iron.

    200 - 4 color, 18x24
It was also the 3rd poster we ever did, and ALMOST made us quit then, but we stuck with it.

I did my Decemberists and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy posters in the same day, adding up to 80 of one run and 60 of the other, and 3 colours each.... that was baaaaaad. I really can't think about doing any more than that.
Also, i'm really not sure i would want to screen anything with an edition above 100.... it kind of takes away a bit of the magic. I like small edition sizes, and frankly if anyone wanted 100's doing, i would probably try and talk them into litho or digital to save my sanity.

    330 - 5 Color, 15" x 15"

...except I'm not done yet. Started last night at 6, and have one more color to go. The shows tonight. The posters are to be given away for free to the loyal fans, of course.

I think I need to get back to work.

250 3 color CD sleeves; finished only to find out that when everyone approved the artwork, they thought I'd be adding another name to the back. So, in the end, it became 4 colors.
Other than that a few 2 color 100+ runs. When we have a couple posters due around the same time we commonly pull them the same day to get it out of the way. It can mean 500-1000 pulls sometimes, but that means the next day can be spent playing Spider-Man 2, or watching an entire season of Macguyver.

I agree with you there Drew. Rarely do I print more than 100 of a poster or print, usually less. LIMITED EDITION keep a print special. If an art print sells out I sometimes print again with other colors.

Besides... an edition of >100 busts my dodgy elbows.

You all put me to shame - my "best" so far is 120 7-colour. It took me 24 hours over 3 days.

I haven't sold a single one of them, either. It's technically interesting but not exactly the most exciting poster ever.

wow, didn't expect to see 5 pages of posts this quick. Killer #s some of you. I don't think I'll ever do a run more than 300 or so. and if I do, whoever is paying for it will reallllly be paying for it.
