Default diy washout water filtration

has anybody rigged up a cheap water filtration system for their washout sink? so all that emulsion and ink doesn't go down the drain and into the ground? i'd like to be able to filter it through something disposable (like a coffee filter, but i don't know if a coffee filter will pull out small enough particles) that i can just throw away, and use the water to water the plants or flush the terlit.

I've talked with emulsion/ink manufactuers over and over and they all tell me that all the inks and stuff we use at my shop are ok to go down the drain. Thats in my town Portland, Or. Thats why they have sewage treatment plants. Whatevery you do, don't let chemicals go in a street drain, a lot of them run to local streams and do not get filtered. I don't recomend using the water again for your plants. That's the way it is where I am. Hope this helped

we spend the extra bling on the more enviro friendly products
also a really good power washer helps to reduce the amount of chemicals u need
a reg hair trap keeps the solids out of the drain and a carbon filter instaled in the pipes (pulmber's shop- like 80$ keeps the nastyier stuff out of the water.)
water based ink also helps keep the nasties at bay

yeah, i only use water-based and i kind of figured the drain could handle it, but i thought i'd at least check. i tried to find info on what size filter would filter ink and emulsion particles, but i couldn't find any info on what size those particles are.
maybe i should start using my friends' poop for ink.

yeah, only emulsion and citrus based cleaners go down are drain. We we try to have the screen totally clean before it even hits the washout tank. If your really worried about it there's a company out there called Franmar with what they say are super environmentally safe products, I think thier all soy based. I knew a hippy guy that used to use them in his backyard. I have no idea how to get a hold of them, though.
