Paper sticking to screen

Long time listener, first time caller...

I was trying to get my first print done last night. I noticed that every time I made a pull, the paper stuck to the screen. Luckily, when I lifted the frame and held the paper down, it came off cleanly. But I can tell there's a 'haze' where the screen stuck. Also, the ink seems really thick.

I had spacers under the three sides not clamped into my hinges, approximately 1/8 in. thick. The screen itself seems to have enough spring to come away from the substrate.

I don't know if this is enough info to go by, but any ideas what might be happening?

So, what do you have holding the paper down to the printing surface? Gravity? Spray glue? Vacuum? If you're using the first method, it's gonna stick. You need methods 2 or 3...

wrap some paper up into little flat squares and tape them to the swinging end of the screen. when you print you wanna press down on the screen, when you move/lift the squeegee on/off the screen pops back up. that little 'pop' helps alot i found. whenever the screen was lying flat on the print, it stuck all over the place and the ink looked course

spray some adhesive on the table,
let tack for a few minutes,
and print.
3M ReMount works best, but I've had a hard time finding it lately.

i've had that happen before when the emulsion is underexposed. the first few prints worked fine, however after the ink sits on the screen for a while, it kind of makes the emulsion sticky on the underside of the screen, so the paper sticks to it, even with a vacuum on it. try exposing for a little longer.

...and spray down the entire screen.
not just the image area.

i was told to put "Goof-Off" in my ink. it gets out the stickiest messes.

Okay...sounds like I have a few things to try. And maybe one thing not to try...

Thanks for the help, y'all. In about 2-300 more prints, I should be able to remove the "newbie" tattooed across my forehead...

I use 3M Spraymount, works the same as Remount only much easier to find.
