Hater!
All this hatering just PROVES that there's no real difference and paint is just as good as ink and everyone who prints with ink is a sucker and everyone who prints with house paint is a genius.

you know what Dan, you're so wrong. TW graphics is my jam. nehnehnehnehnahh nahhh.
This is why I spend 30 minutes wandering Canadian Tire looking for painters tape, instead of just asking
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Dan, you live in Portland. THERE ARE NO HOT DAYS.Quote:
but that only helps me on really hot days.
Well, I don't know about that Jon. They all sound kind of opinion based to me.
Lets take them one at a time, shall we?
"Too runny"
Who's to say what " too runny" is? Some guys might like it that way.
"Difficult to do proper flood"
C'mon. You spread the shit over and it's flooded. You could flood the screen with mayonnaise. Doesn't matter.
"Dries on screens really quickly"
True, but again, "quickly" could mean different things to different people. Besides there are remedies for that. Floetrol, or even water.
"Clogs fine detail"
True, but hey. That's the nature of the beast. There are remedies for this too.
"Non-archival / looks like shit over time"
-wait a minute... Is that true? Cause if it is, there is no remedy for that that I can think of, and more importantly, it's not a matter of opinion. If that's true, well then it's true, and you got me there.
I just did my first poster with Benjamin Moore. The best thing about it by far was picking colors with the color chips in the store.
To see all the colors next to each other in your hand instead of in your mind is awesome. I think the cost advantage will be more noticeable over time. It was runny, true, and it dried way too quickly. But what do you want for five bucks?
You asked for reasons, I gave 'em.
I know they say "the plural of anecdote isn't fact", but...
A small bottle of shitty, runny paint that dries too quickly. ;)
And the reason I find it difficult to flood is because it's so thin! Mayonnaise would be super easy to flood, as it's got the consistency of screenprinting ink.
Nobody really minds if you use housepaint, we're just trying to save you the grief we all went through before deciding to switch to real inks :)
Nah. all of those issues are annoyances. no big deal. If one doesnt mind it being runny, or if you add floetrol, or even just move quickly, theres no difference that I can see. That being said, twenty years down the line if its chipping off or fading away, well then that would be a difference.
What do you want for five bucks? a small bottle of paint that dries to quickly yes. Shitty? only time will tell.
just my two cents. probably worth less than that.
