I've been printing on this old drafting table (the really common Mayline one with the metal base). It's great and it's the perfect height, but the laminate shit on the table surface broke down from spray adhesive and cleaning so I've been scraping it off over time with a razor blade. I'm getting down to the bare particle board and it's not coated or anything, and I've always had trouble with adhesive not retaining it's stickiness through a print run (and that's even after I bought the better stuff textile printers use).
So I'm not sure what the best solution is. Is there anything I can buy that will coat the table and not wear off through repeated adhesive use/cleaning? Or do I need to just get a big sheet of melamine or something to put on the table and print on? Cheapest workable solution is the best. It's not time for a vacuum table yet and I really don't want to add any meaningful height to the table.
