editioning ? - switching colors

I'm printing some stuff and decided to use a different color for half of the run. What's the rule? Would these be considered part of the same edition?

Also some of them I am printing a color on top, on others this color goes under other colors. Both ways look fine, just different. Same question. Thanks.

technically, different papers merit different editions, as do color variations. can you choose to ignore this? yes, you can. i have done stuff like #1-100 of an edition are on one paper, and #101-200 are on a different paper, printed at the same time.
