the mysterious 3rd colour

Good day gig poster land.
Doing a screen and it will be my first attempt at getting a 3rd colour by overlaying 2 colours. i am going for an orange mixing the red and yellow, ahem. thank you.
any advice on this? does it matter if the yellow goes down first and the red over the top or visa versa?

The very general rule of thumb for overprints is go in the opposite print order that you normally do.

No overprints = light colors first, then progressively darker.

Overprints = dark to light.

cut back on the guitars, add more base. lots of base.

if you are ascairt of the brown notes, use process.

zip lock principle: yellow and blue make freshness!

It not that much of a mystery, just experiment before you commit to the print run. Do lots of test swatches until you get the desired result. Trust me, I fucked up lots of prints by being to cavalier about it - "ahhh, looks good enough, I guess." Bad attitude. Be picky.

Yellows can be naturally transparent. Get yourself some Flo. Saturn Yellow pigment or concentrate to beef up the overprint yellow.
TW also makes a halftone yellow concentrate that is helpful when doing this.
