Exposure Unit Pump

I have an exposure unit similar to this one

The problem I have is that I can't get high voltage in the new work space. The guy promised it before we moved into the new space, but the electrician said it was a no go. My question is, can I just replace the air pump with a lower voltage model?

You can get any voltage you might need. You just need to pay someone to set you up if you are not handy in that arena. As far as Johnny's electrician saying "it was a no go" it wasn't that there wasn't enough power in his municipality it was just that it would have cost too much/ too big of a pain to wire for something higher. (I am assuming). There is after all a shitton of voltage running through the distribution grid.

Something like that. What he said was a little closer to "You'll probably die in a fire if we don't rewire everything."

I doubt they have douthitt in Germany...but any vacuum pump the same size or similar will work. try an industrial supplier.

Ooohhh . . . I just did this.

GAST Manufacturing makes a great vacuum pump. They have an email service department that are just amazing. When my pump stopped pulling a strong vacuum, and after 2 trips to the local motor shop that 'fixes' these, I contacted them and they sent me a diagnosis, manuals and told me how to take the motor apart and clean it. Now it works 1000% better than it did before. That pump is also probably 25-30 years old too and they had no problem giving me all the info I needed
