Printing on deckled stock

Shit!

Ran out of trimmed edge paper and happen to have some 20 x 24 deckled edge stock paper left.

Just wondering how the hell to go about setting up registration on these mugs....

Is is best to tape an extra piece of paper to out of screen range to print registration marks on? or do you guys use a piece of acetate(which can be tedious).

Gotta get some prints made quick! Arg.

We trim off the deckles on the registrations sides then put them back later if they are desired.

Here's one way we use - clip the corners about 1/4"-3/8" on both ends of the deckle side. After, you can rip it a bit with small needlenose pliers, nobody will know...If you do this, you have to mark exactly how long your tab is, and you have to use the same sheet for placing your tabs on each colour, otherwise you won't get the location and angle of the tab exact.

I print on deckled paper a lot, it's what all of the alphabet prints are done on. Since I use pin reg it's a moot issue.

hahahahahahahahaha ....but that means cutting the sheet down after? In that case you can cut the offcut section square and use the corners, then cut it all off. the method above is what we use when we have a full sheet and want to keep it. Used to lightly glue the sheets to a backing card and then register to the card - this works well if you are printing bleed, but is a pain in the ass and very time consuming.

A number of ways to skin this cat. Me, I would rather just trim the stock square and fuck the deckle edge. most people matte the prints anyway, it just doesn't matter. And getting the fluff from the deckle edge on every second print is a fucking pain, you have to brush every damn sheet before printing.

it all comes in a standard rectangle sheet. And have you used a decking ruler? That what my next step is I think if I can't find square sheets...(need 23 x 23...)
