Issues with my Ranar exposure unit (also photos of hot bitches with pretty mouths!!)

Hello yall,

I'm still a noob and was hoping for some professional eyes to look at my problem:
I recently ordered a Ranar CBX2024 exposure unit and have not been able to produce a perfect stencil with it yet. This could very well be user error, but I'm beginning to suspect that there is an electrical problem.
So hears the deal: I'm using an Ulano exposure calculator to determine the best exposure time for my new emulsion: Murakami Sp-9500.



As you can see, the Ulano logo is only minimally covered by the the density filters and therefore should look about the same after exposure and washout.
HOWEVER--
I have noticed some inconsistencies in how the Ulano logo is rendered after I rinse the screen:



the left logo washed out poorly, yet the right logo looks fine?

I tried carefully reinstalling the UV tubes just in case they weren't seated properly on the left side. Before I expose another screen I wanted to get some advise on how to properly install the tubes? Also I need to determine if this is an electrical problem so I can contact Ranar for a replacement (which I do not want to do!).

Am I nuts or is the light slightly brighter on the left side????

What's holding the screen against the film? I don't see a vacuum system. Also how new is this screen?

I used a the metal padded weight that came with the unit.. the compression method. No vacuum needed.
The screen was purchased a couple months ago and has only been used a few times.

ALSO I WAS BEING SNARKY IN THE TITLE. THERE ARE NO HOT BITCHES. I JUST WANT TO FIT IN WITH YOU JERKS

looks like bad contact to me. is there anything pressing the screen down on the glass, or are you just laying it on there?

I concur that it looks like bad contact. The wieght goes in the screen not on top of the frame (just checking)

I really hope that it's simply a contact problem. I was suspecting there was something wrong with the 2 UV tubes on the left side or worse: something wrong with the unit.

Here's what my exposure set up looks like: (the screen shown has already been exposed and washed out, this is just to give you guys an idea)



The weight has a black padded bottom side, and it weighs 5 - 10 pounds
