    Default double pull: bad form?

Do any of you use a second pull (not just a clearing pull) to combat less-than-opaque inks/paint? I've been doing some ink experiments and noticed some need a second pull to really cover, but unless I am totally consistent there's always the potential for blur.

I'm coating my screens once on print, once on squeegee. Think if I built up the stencil some more I could get away with one pull on these transparent-y inks? I know using a bit lower mesh count may take care of it but I'm dealing with some fine detail.

Ha, once on print side (substrate side?), once on squeegee side.

I double pull all the time when I want to make a color a bit more opaque. Just have your vaccuum table running and there wiil be no shit or blur. One time I was doing a super transparent neon like color that I had to hit like 6 time to get it to really pop- but it worked out fine. It just sucked having to do that every print.

The blurring - yeah I think I have some hinge clamp play I need to lock down. Also I noticed if I'm not totally consistent with the pressure and angle I get slight blurring but this may be magnified because I'm dealing with random dither dots and don't have much wiggle room.

I should get one of those double bladed squeegees I saw posted awhile back and quadruple pull with that so the ink will go so deep it will sink into the fabric of space-time.

    I never double-pull, ever.

If I need super opacity and I'm not printing high detail, I will sometimes go back with another hit after the first is dry.

I've done both double pull and have also gone back for a second hit after the prints were dry. I try to avoid doing either, though, as it pretty much doubles your print time.
Some people double hit metallics and split fountains. Makes them look pretty awesome.
