Anyone tried mixing PC pigments and speedball acrylic ink?

First - I have learned SO much by reading these forums. Thank you for that.

I looked around for the answer to my question and I realize I can just give the idea a whirl but I don't want to waste ink if I don't need to. So..... Have any of you tried mixing PC pigments with Speedball acrylic ink? Did it work for you?

Racist, redneck, or homophobic pigments only mix well with white.

I guess I just needed a nudge. The color mixing - pc pigments and Speedball - went well. I'll be doing more of that!

Are you talking about the Matsui PC pigments? And also are you mixing them with the Speedball extender base or the inks themselves?

Hey BigMan, Yes they are Matsui PC Pigments and in this case I mixed with Speedball extender and Speedball white ink. I was happy with the results.

We mix the PC pigments with TW clear. Works great.

How much of the pigment are you mixing in?What sort of ratio? Does this save money over buying premade Matsui inks>

We like Matsui PC better than Matsui RC, but be warned that these inks are more transparent. A yellow may look orange in the tub, but it will print yellow. We use it exactly the same as we do with the Matsui base. About 10% pigment. We use Matsui base for fabrics and TW base for paper. The price is the same. I think TW is $2.00 cheaper a gallon. We do this so that we can use the same pantone matching system for both paper and fabric. You can print on paper with matsui base, but ink on top of ink will always stay tacky. Even on small trapping. It is a shame too, because I really like the finish. It won't smudge, it won't even run if you get it wet. It is dry, but tacky.
