Default Can You Mix Your Ink and Retarder Brands?

I mixed Aerotex retarder with Matsui ink and it seemed to dry in the screen faster than the ink alone. Was it because I mixed brands? But then the retarder was a couple years old. And I didn't stir it well beforehand. Maybe it was just one of those things.

Aerotex doesn't mix well with WB inks formulated for graphic printing. If you had tried another combo but Aerotex it may have worked. I've never used Matsui though.
