Default Ink won't flash cure fast enough

Hey everyone. I'm trying to use print white on some dark shirts. It's an underlay for a process print. Now the weather is colder than normal in Georgia. Not sure if that's part of the problem. My base white won't flash even on the lowest dwell I can set this automatic press to. Currently I've got it indexing to get the palettes real hot before I try again. My only other idea is to try thinning the ink a bit if this next move doesn't work. Wondering if there are any other suggestions you guys may have?

Also when I try searching for this answer it takes me like 6 tries to match the image verification that thing is a motherfucker.

Can't talk about flashing, but if you log in first, I think you don't have to do the captcha.

Or if you go premium. One of the two.

If the platens are warm and your flash is hot it shouldn't be a problem. I have never dealt with an auto so I do not know the ins and outs of automated dwell times. Is it quartz or infared? Are you talking about the country Georgia or the state? How cold are we talking? What is the slowest dwell time? What distance flash to platen? The space between the platen and flash is so small and they both get so hot that ambient temperature shouldn't matter than much, although strong drafts can be a problem.

I would assume the flash is underpowered and not at correct heat, but if not, you may have to invest in some fast-flashing white for underbasing in cold weather.

yep, what are the specifics of your press?

don't you have a foot brake or something to hold down, that will give it as much extra time you need?

Heating up the platens sort of corrected the issue. I'm in the state Georgia. The flash works normally it just wasn't flashing today. Probably the cold has had an impact on the humidity we normally work with here. Ordinarily I am premium but divorce sucks hard and I have no money but am a much happier person. Despite correcting the flash issue it still looks crappy when I run it straight so I guess it still isn't flashing perfectly. We are abandoning the four color process in favor of attempting a hybrid index/color crunch solution that'll hopefully work. The spot colors should cover better on a slightly underflashed base where the transparency and thinness of process colors was a problem.

did you check to see if an element was burned out on the flash? or a fuse/circuit breaker? these things happen.

I suggest leaving the shirt under the flash overnight. Usually works.

Georgia is not too cold. I guarantee my shop up in winterland is colder than yours.
