Decal printing ink

I have read in another thread that Nazdar 59000 series ink can be used to print decals, although Nazdar has their line of decal inks. Since the 59000 series is about 2/3 the price of those decal printing inks, I was wondering if someone could confirm it. That other post was about 2 years old.

5900 works, and dries slower than 9700 which you can also use.

That's great, thanks! Since the 59000 is an enamel paint, I thought I could thin it with regular paint thinner. Can I really do that, or do I have to buy Nazdar's "59000 Thinning Varnish for 59000 Enamel Plus Gloss Ink"?
