Default Special caulk for sealing inside corners of screens.

A few weeks ago, I found a website that sold special caulk for pumping into the corners of the screen frames where the mesh meets the frame. Like it was some kind of replacement for that tape that gets put in there. Had anyone tried this? And if you have, do you have a link to where I can buy some? I forgot to bookmark it and can't find it anywhere.

I think that tape is a little crummy some times. Leaves a lot of residue on the frames. But now that I think of it, that caulk would leave a big bead of caulk there as well, so I am not sure which is worse.

    Thanks

Dunno, tape makes clean-up 100x easier, just peel away all that annoying ink that makes its way towards edges. This seems like what it saves in tape is quickly offset by extra time and chemistry in clean-up.

That product says its good for the life of the mesh, which i would assume means once its on it stays on....which would mean no clean up.

I think he's suggesting that when you pull the tape off you pull off you easily pull off the ink in that area, not that you have to re-caulk each time. No tape would mean you would have an inch or two more ink to clean off. Doesn't seem like that much ink to clean...and if it is a lot of ink it should go back in the container.

It's not so much that it's an inch or two more ink, just that ink that makes it's way into the corners of the screen and right up where the screen and frame meet is really difficult to clean up.

I think thats what this stuff is made to prevent. it seals off the tight spaces so that the ink does not get up in the cracks.

No, I think you are misunderstanding, you will still need to clean the inside corners of the squeegee side of the screen, the insides of the screen frame and on top of the caulking. If I had two layers of packing tape all around my screen it would take me 30 seconds to peel it off and be done with it, but getting in there to clean will probably take a few minutes, and for people using solvent inks (like me) a dollar or two extra clean-up solvent.

I am realizing now that if you print WB you can just take it to a sink and spray everything out. Probably makes sense.
