build one
scan the hell out of craigslist and even call local print shops, often they have one or two they'll let go or know of a shop that's liquidating.
i managed to answer the phone at the right time at my old community studio right when i was setting up my own place when a local commercial shop was closing down and selling off their equipment. sadly, it happens a lot right now in this economy.
i like fun.

if you have no luck finding one, they're not too rough to build. there's a thread on here, I think tuffy made it, just do a search for it. it's served me pretty well so far.

AUGHHH, just reminds me, this print shop 6 hours away's been trying to dump two racks for almost three months and at only $50 total......... been too busy or no luck securing a way to transport both in one trip. I'm nervous someone's going to swipe it by the time I get to it after Christmas. Good luck with yours, and yeah, craigslist the fuck out of it.

Cheers to the DIY impulse, and I know plenty of my friends are getting along adequately with home-built drying shelves... But if you are planning on producing in any sort of volume, proper hinged drying racks are very very good to have. Their lack leads to an inevitable production bottleneck. Buying a real drying rack offers about the best return on capital investment available to the printer starting a new studio, well worth a few hundred bucks.
I agree with crosshair, I bought a nice one for $25. it's best thing in my studio, my DIY one I made 8 years ago sucks.
