hey kendra, i've used painting-style frames for screenprinting before (i usedta swipe em from an art store i worked in years ago) - just interlock the segments and re-inforce the corners with staples from a staplegun.
i'm gonna have to scan you the article i wrote, because you will need to acquire some screenprinting mesh, and some photo emulsion fluid, if you really want to get anything done. but damn, what are you waiting for? go downstairs at school and ask someone where they get their supplies! calgary is a big enough city - i'm sure there's an art store that sells mesh,and photo emulsion solution (made by Hunt/Speedball), in case your school doesn't help.
