HELP! has anyone used nazdar 2700 clear base with speedball?

I am in a bind and can't get any speedball transparent base.. will nazdar 2700 work?

Try mixing a small amount. If it starts to look like cottage cheese then they aren't ph compatible systems.

thanks for the tip.. I am hesitant to kick down $87 a gallon to test it... it's not sold in quarts at midwest in town. Has anyone one else out there done it before?

Never tried the clear base, but I've mixed 2700 black and Speedball black together before (50/50). Works fine. I would assume the clear base would mix the same, but don't have any evidence for that.

what color are you mixing into the clear base? 2700 and speedball have a bad tendency to create "boogers" when mixed together. i don't think there is a technical term for this, but they're basically tiny bits of ink that form and clog up your screen. it happens both with white ink and black ink. so if you're mixing either of those into the 2700 clear base, watch out. sometimes you can strain your ink mixture through a mesh to get them out, but not always. i use a really low mesh (i think a 70 or something) for my straining and it doesn't get all of them.
