2-color T-shirt registration...

So at this point I have done several posters, registered up to 8 colors (after much trail and error) using registration marks and tape to register the posters.

Now I have a job for 10 shirts...
The design is simple (2 colors)
I can't for seem to find a way to register properly.
My setup is...
a table with two hinges.
any ideas on how to register this?
the shirts are all different sizes..S,M,L,XL
if anyone has made two color shirts without a press
and has some sort of system of registration it would be a big help

I'm not any help, just feedback ... I tried this once. It ended terribly.

You'll have to clean the screen out each time on the second color and eyeball that bitch.

No press= Sub par results.

But I like sub par results on t-shirts. Alot of people don't.

pin registration.

I've done this with a acetate flap that is hinged with tape to the table and I print the second color on the flap. Then you use the flap to register your second color to the already printed first color. It makes it easier but it's still a pain.

pay steve W and use his little carosel. Squee3s method kind of works, but it is impossible to reregister the first colour completely, it will always be distorted.

you can cut out a foamcore platten for each, and sprayglue it in each shirt for the whole run. Register to the edges of the platten through the shirt and run like you would a flatstock job. Be accurate with your placement of the foamcore plattens if you want the print to land in the same spot on each shirt.

then do the second color the same way, without removing the plattens.

Yep, I've done this. It ain't perfect, but that'll get you about 90% there if you're on top of your squeegee draggery, the wind is right, and you don't look it in the eye.

don't take on jobs that you don't know how to do.
get your ass in here and use my crappy little carousel.
