Default Designing and Printing yourself-is it worth it?

Hey everybody, this is my first post here so please don't crucify me if this has been covered before--I searched and didn't find what I was looking for.

Basically I'm a screen printing noobie, at this point I've printed just one design (4 color) and I already feel like I've learned a lot about the process. I definitely enjoyed the whole process of creating the prints. Creating the seps (by hand), exposing screens, pulling and all that, I had a lot of fun doing it. However at the time I had access to a big studio complete with all the supplies and equipment I needed. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of access any more so as far as supplies and equipment go I'd basically need to start from scratch, which means a big investment.
What I want to know is how many of the artists here both design and print their own work. Is it common to outsource printing? In the end I am much more interested in the design side of things, and although I would like to do both I'm not sure if printing my own work is the best move. If you think that it's a better idea to have someone else do the printing, can anyone recommend a good company to contact in CT or the northeast area?
Thanks in advance and please don't kill me

We design and print most of our work and send certain jobs out. You should learn to print so you can get better at designing and be able to communicate to a printer if you send it out. Once you have it down you can outsource when needed.

designing & printing yourself = more $$profit$$ for you in the long run.
once the basic supplies are established, it's pretty easy to buy paper, ink, and emulsion.

then again, i wouldn't ever print anything by hand over 150 copies.
my body tells me not to.

EDIT * and YES, it's totally worth it.

clients seem to appreciate the one-stop-shopping aspect.
