As some of you might know, we've been working on a special art print for artist David Choe. I've known David ever since he sent his comic "Slow Jams" to my old magazine Life Sucks Die for review. We've been friends ever since. But it wasn't until Upper Playground had us run two Obama prints for him that we had a chance to print his work. He liked how they turned out so much that when Ben and David got to talking, the idea was hatched to try a print based on one of his more involved paintings. That's when "Exudos From the Land of Play" entered our shop. Bjorn worked on the seps, starting with an intial 13 colors with the plan being to add more screens as needed to really make the piece come to life.
Dave came to town yesterday, we had dinner, then today got to work. When he approved the final screen, they finished at 18 colors. Right now, he's in the process of adding unique bits to each one so none will be the same.
Here we are at the beginning of yesterday-
