The process of the studded poster or Damn! you must be crazy!

My screen printed X poster screamed to become a reality instead of just an illustration.



I had to answer the calls. My brain was like, "This will be the craziest poster you have done to date. DO IT!"

So it begins...


More process to follow and the finished piece of course.

It is taking longer than I initially thought due to the fact that I bought studs that seemed cheap, but are pretty rugged so bending the prongs takes pliers and patience so I don't tear the cover stock. I did a bit more this morning before I left for work, but I forgot to take a photo.

may i suggest putting in a bunch of studs from the front, carefully turning it over so it rests on the studs and not the paper, and gently knocking the prongs down with a soft rubber mallet?
i guess you'd have to have a pretty soft surface to do that or the tops of the studs would get all fucked up.

I tried doing multiple studs at the same time but with how close the prongs sit to one another, it didn't work out. It's going quicker once I worked out a system.
