That's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
2 questions, though: What kind of ink did you use? And what did you use to seal it?
thanks, i used the nazdar 9700 series and sealed it with shitty home depot stain/ sealer. i clear coated it with spray on clear coat.
Ahhhh…I see. I've been looking for something to seal or clear coat with when using water based inks. I've been too lazy/busy to do too much looking around, and too scared to actually try anything on the few pieces on wood I've already done. I have this nasty suspicion that most sealants will just eat through Speedball in the process…
ask andymac, he's down with that shiz. but i think using a regular cheap sealant before hand and then a spray on clear coat would be fine.
Most of my stuff is printed on wood with water based house paints and I seal it with Minwax Polycrylic . I have never had any problems at all. You can brush it on,thin it with water and rub it on and I have even printed with it. Low odor and water clean up.
I printed a wood sign for our shop a few weeks ago. Used speedball black and sealed it with Rustoleum clear gloss. Its rained a few times since and it looks the same. I clear coated it about 5 times though.
