metalic inks and color layering

Working on a print and was planning on using some metalic silver ink(intended for screenprinting applictions) should i treat it just like any other color or is there something i should do differentlty? Do other colors print over it ok. Also When printing i usually color seperate everything, can i get away with just over printing as long as inks are opaque and darker than the first color (working light to dark)?

Metallics: Use a lower mesh.
Overprints are fine.
