first post/process

so, my story:

started printing a few months ago, have done a few posters, started to get the hang of it, now i feel like im worthy to post on here. andy's book + reading countless threads on here have prepared me for this moment. for that, I thank you all!

my buddy asked me to design and print my biggest run yet (150!) these are going to be printed 11x17. design was approved yesterday, and here it is:

so all week ive been prepping for printing, and he says that he wants a few to send out for preorders this wknd so we got down tonight. with one little hiccup.

first off heres our dungeon of a space:

the black screen had some shit stuck in there for whatever reason....laziness....so we had to stop for the night and burn a new screen tmw after work.
(sorry bryan, no preorders ready for the wknd.)

I think the tire on the trailer is a little low on air. You might want to fix that.

fd - I just killed a mini spider that crawled between these letters.

Looks good, make some more.

Well first off you're missing a key tool.

Booze.

Second off, the poster is nice and fine, but why not integrate the text a bit more? It looks like you came up with the concept, and then boxed it in with two big blocks of text.

More often than not, if the poster has a great idea, and the bands name is decently large, the size of the rest of the info can get much smaller.

Looks like a nice dungeon, and a fine setup for printing.

Now do 5 more, after that 10 more, and just keep doubling until you're sick of it.

Also, do you have any off contact on the screen? The side closest to you in the photo? If not, add 50¢ or two pieces of flattened cardboard to each corner on that side.

believe me, we had some party supplies present on the scene.

ill keep that in mind next time. actually the first version of it had all the text at the bottom, and a lot smaller, and just a big open visual at the top. after showing to the dude, i made changes based on his suggestions. i really need to start doing that though.

also, dont have any off-contact, but will try the quarter method this wknd.
