Roughing it out on my canvas i stretched.

Started adding more detail. Decided i didn't like the little dude in the viking's head. Was unsure what to do next.








Photoshop color study

-I was struggling with where to go at this point so i decided to do some studies in photoshop.





Heavy Metal Clouds!

Here's how the study translated unto canvas.






Holy Diver!
Holy Diver Inspired water. I was struggling to figure out what to do with the bottom of the canvas. Looked back at some heavy metal album covers and realized that the bottom portion of Dio's Holy Diver Album cover would be a perfect solution.

i'm not sure. it took a LONG time... the painting is big ( about 5 ft x 3 1/2 ft). i did it over several months off and on. I know that from the second to the last stage to the last stage was a good solid weekend of painting... probably 2x12-14 hr days.
