Default collapsing / consolidating band names in the index / database?

I've noticed this from time to time when looking up bands -- multiple entries with slightly different spellings etc. Is there anything a user can do to help, short of PMing an admin...?

Example: I did a search for posters with "Black Joe Lewis" having recently been turned on to his (and the Honeybears') righteous music, and four results turned up: link

One is just for Black Joe Lewis himself, but the other three are slightly different spellings of "and the Honeybears". Obviously it'd be best to consolidate at least those last three so people don't miss anything. Specifically when clicking on a link from another sample, it's easy to miss the other iterations.
