install flash?

everytime i go into the site i get a dialog box asking me to install flash.
its not a massive problem, just a bit annoying having to keep clicking cancel- im using a work computer so cant install stuff.

Flash is required to view the banner ads on this site. I'm sure your work won't have a problem with having flash installed. Its pretty standard.

they probably wouldnt, but due to my monkey-status, i dont have authority to install or download programs

but no problems, you answered my question- i just wondered why it was asking me to install it

it's a plugin that is part of explorer/firefox/whatever, not necessarily a standalone "real" program. If you haven't already, you might try installing it to see what happens. Might just work without a problem. I don't claim to know much about that whole "admin" thing though.

but, on the flip side, i used to work in an office where if you tried to install any new programs without the correct admin priviledges, all hell broke loose with the IT dudes. some of the machines were actually disabled/incapable of downloading anything, even routine software updates without admin passwords. i couldn't even install or update norton. no downloads = dummy-proofed virus protection.

of course, web surfing was totally NOT tracked.
