I started 25 years ago with a stolen Kinko's card and a shitty bicycle. If I can do it you can too. - Kozik
For the record, I also enjoy snack cakes and receiving fellatio. - ENM
Reading "The Art of Seduction" saved me a lot of money on Roofies.
I was stuck in this giant RV with Keith Richards and he kept tickling my ass and trying to toss my salad. - B-DROID

All of you people are ignoring the real monsters who wants to take a bite.
At this time only poster makers are generally ignoring the merch companies, management and labels. Not always, but more often than not. They see the money and they want what they rightfully or incorrectly see as their cut.
Series deals that hook the bands directly up with the artists are a safe bet right now if you have any hope of after sales, which for 95% of you is where the real money is. If the band, at bare minimum is not cut in, then you're fucking them, as who knows what their contracts say as far as merch goes with their labels and merch companies. If you're fucking them then why the hell would they even bother to make an attempt to protect you from the vultures.
If you aren't cutting the band in, in some fashion, you're fucking everyone. This is a symbiotic relationship. Like everything, it is your job to negotiate what the cut should be so that both parties are happy. Otherwise you should be making art prints without band names on them. Getting in on a series is practically a guarantee to allow you after sales. Promoters can't do this for you. This has been stated a fucking billion times on this site.
Ron is upset because the rules he has worked by forever have changed for whatever reason, even though he's a part of the problem that created this situation.
agreed with you richie. and there's also the "take the time to contact bands your own damn self" route, which works best of all.

I personally believe that if you don't know how to do that then you shouldn't be doing this anyways.
