yep. i've been really fortunate to see alot of rick's originals thru dennis king. really amazing stuff. the one thing that amazed me was how many "mistakes" he whited over, re-inked, whited over, re-inked, whited over......... infinitum. definetely an anal ( and brilliant ) illustrator.


......altho 350k for an '87 griffin sounds like a sucker purchase.

I believe he did most of his work on a lap board with little or no reference materials.

old school. the guy that did Little Nemo was the same. he would work anywhere, with a lap board, while riding the commuter tram from home to the office etc.. his 'studio' was just a bare drafting table in a dingy office.
