'Deathbolt From Above'
13 colors 110 lb. Mr French Smart White paper signed and numbered edition of 45 ![]() This print was born out of my fondness for test prints/monoprints. I love the richness that develops from all those layers of ink. You can't fake it, you just have to print a lot of colors on top of each other to get all that texture and subtlety. It gives it weight. Literal, and visual. I started with 4 layers of absolutely arbitrary colors and designs. The first layer I printed was from a torn paper stencil. Then I just kinda scribbled and threw things together for the other 3. I did my best to leave some part of every layer showing, too. I didn't really plan this print out, I approached it like I do my paintings with only a vague idea of what i wanted in the end and stayed open to all the happy accidents that can happen along the way. The experience of winging it on a print taught me a lot, and since there was no deadline, I took my time, starting this print back in December 2007. I'm definitely going to do a print like this again, plus the idea of doing a 20+ color print isn't that daunting anymore. buy'em here: http://www.gigposters.com/classified...eid=6323&pre=1 Enjoy! Party on.
