At least I had that mindset, keeps a bit of an emotional distance JUST IN CASE (we had a friend who lost their baby at 38 weeks) and I don't think I could have handled it if we got too attached, and the other reason was so we didn't get to convinced it was a girl, just in case it was a boy. It happens.
