yeah, tape is on the back. rediculous amounts of it. when i first went to the dude i told him how im wanted them framed, acid-free matting, corners, etc. he stopped and assured me that he knew what he was doing. i took his word for it.

If he halfway knew what he was doing then the tape may be reversable. The cloth tape is most likely linen tape that just needs to be moistened to remove. I find it hard to believe any framer would use regular masking tape. Most likely it's art tape that is acid free. But if they truly are the scumbags you suggest then you're outta luck. The posters themselves are most likely not on archival stock themselves, at best they're alphacellulous that's been ph neutralized.

it's definitely masking tape, not artist tape. it's been on there for a couple of years now. also, he used regular cardboard for the backing. when i say rediculous amounts of masking tape, i mean rows and rows of it for no good reason. if anything, one strip across the top would've done the trick.
