"Whale Bone Grove" by A. Horkey • A BRLSQ™ process thread •
Hey everybody,
Our last project for the year is this monster of a print that has been waylaid, pushed back, pre-hyped, reworked, delayed, etc to the point that some people have started to doubt it's very existence. We actually laid the first color all the way back in August in an attempt to finish it for Flatstock Seattle. It wasn't in the cards then but this December we stacked the deck. Here's the flicks of how it's been going so far. There are three different colorways. The standard version, the subscriber/flatstock version, and a Japan version to be released through our Japan distro- BURLESQUE of NORTH AMERICA™ STORE It's 16 colors plus at trip to the embosser for the title which will be a blind deboss. The Japan version will be 17 colors with the title in Japanease kanji embossed instead of debossed. Theres a total of 40 different colors used in this project.(the sub version and the Japan version share a few colors and all of them use some transparent white) The run is on archival all cotton Coventry Rag, the same as our print with Decoder Ring last December. There are a few on some other colors of paper and a very few with mix and matched colors. We will post complete editioning information once the run is complete. Here's Bjorn working on seps. We tag teamed a bit on this massive task.  Ben got started on mixing inks.  Gotta get it just right...  A good chunk of the colors mixed and the first screen ready to go in our Daytona press. Bjorn is totally on the case-
 All of our screens take a trip to the light table.  Skipping ahead a bit to color 8. I think my other flicks are at home.  Version one, color eight.  Screen nine printing.  Color Nine finished on versions 1 and 2.  Color nine version 3.
