That guy SPEED is SOOOOO overrated. His artwork lacks any real creativity. How in the WORLD is this guy's work worthy of POSTER OF THE WEEK status? There are tons of great posters on your site by young artists like Gaither, Gordon, Murphy, Devils Candy, etc. If you want to post a poster by a young up-and-cummer, use their stuff. Its actually good! Im just so freakin sick of these mediocre guys popping up all over the place!

We're trying to add a feature on the site where the posters of the week will be chosen by the fans... We've got a hundred monkeys programming on a hundred computers 24 hours a day.
In the meantime, this site is not trying to "promote" any one artist, and there is no hidden agenda behind the poster of the week. We have not set out to showcase only young "up and cummers". In general, I'm surprised by the amount of hostility people seem to feel towards these artists! Isn't this supposed to be a community of sorts? The poster looks cool. Thats why we chose it. End of story.

I've seen lots of Speed posters that are these funky twists on obscure 19th century ads and stuff. I like it, even though it's the least explosive of his styles.
oh, and i met him in atlanta last year, he's only like 26, so then what's a "young artist" ?

I prefer Speed's more minimalist, cartoony shit. I love the new ones that are all mixed between kind of philosophic propaganda and concert art. The one he did with International Noise Conspiracy was fucking awesome. It says "The man doesn't love you, he only wants to eat you!"
Anyway, I think he's underrated by logic. He does no advertising, refuses interviews and exhibition requests, and does posters by invite only, as well as a bunch of other junk. Yes, I'm a fan, so I give you room to nail me!!!!

sounds like a frustrated artist made the first comment. ZBig Speed freek, but this isn't my favorite of the new ones (I like 'blockheadus maximus' that he just made for Less Than Jake.

I also prefer to see something hand drawn. layout skills are great but I like to see them used with illustration skill. Thats just my opinion.
