    Default Hello

Hi, new to the site here. I'm kind of green on the poster scene but I have been working in graphic and web design for about 8 years.

I'm glad to see that there is a community here for gig poster artists. I'm sure you'll see a lot more of me here.

Please check out my website and let me know what you think.

Do a search in the forums and you will find lengthy discussions on the topic.

basically, the deal with gigposters, you do em for next to nothing or free. somewhere between talent and the right band your poster will become worth something. eventually to sell them at the show and ebay to make a profit. if you can form a connection with someone that will pay you a salary or per poster, great. unlikely though. i try to squeeze a hundred bucks out of em for printing costs. no other form of advertising is so dynamic. one artist promoting another. graphically, you can take big chances. just don't quit your day job and have fun

That's what I figured.. I'm not out to make a whole lot of $$, I'm more in it to support local talent.
