    Default Help me out...

    with this questionnaire..

I'm writing my dissertation on gig posters and their role as collectable artwork, i'd really appreciate it if any of you could take a few minutes to fill it in. There are only a few questions and separate questions for makers & consumers.. fill in both if applicable. post on here, or message me with your answers. Please help!

    Questions for artists

How long have you been making gig posters for?

Do you find more people buy for your artwork or artist/band?

To what degree do you think gig posters have moved away from their role of being promotional material (for shows) into collectable artwork? (and why you think this is)

Do you sign/edition your prints? Why is this?

Do you collect gig posters yourself? If so who are you fans of?

What are the main influences on your work?

Why do you think the Flatstock conventions are important?

    Questions for Collectors

Do you tend to buy gig posters for a particular band, show, artist or simply just the artwork?

What/who got you in to collecting gig posters?

Whose work are you fans of?

How many gig posters do you own (optional: and how much do you think you have spent)?

    THANKS!

I would travel to a flatstock and ask these questions in person.

    Questions for artists

How long have you been making gig posters for? 9.5 Years

Do you find more people buy for your artwork or artist/band? Mostly the band

To what degree do you think gig posters have moved away from their role of being promotional material (for shows) into collectable artwork? (and why you think this is): 99% of what I do is used as merchandise. Internet and kinkos killed the promo poster

Do you sign/edition your prints? Why is this? Yes. Because I hand-print them and they are sold.

Do you collect gig posters yourself? If so who are you fans of? Yes. Chantry, AA, Tooth, Amy Jo, Kleinsmith, Damien Tran

What are the main influences on your work? I don't know anymore. I spend hours on the internet looking at stuff. So google, flickr, ffffound etc. Sometimes books.

Why do you think the Flatstock conventions are important? Education, Profit, Networking, Camaraderie
