Just finished a big project with a co-worker. We printed an illustration of mine on plywood. Die-cut it out with a table-saw, painted the sides and back, printed artists' credits on the back and hand numbered them. Then we urethaned them for a glossy finish. The image is a severed goat head, so we did an edition of 13. The pieces are about 24" by 24".
This project took us months (because all work was done at our print shop after-hours and on weekends).
Considering the amount of labor we put in, the size of the piece, and the fact that it stands alone, more like a fine art wall decoration than a poster. We are going to try to sell them for $200 a piece.
We've gotten some criticism for the pricing but it would be hard for us to let go of them for less. There's got to be 13 people out there that would buy one right?
Any feedback good or bad is appreciated!
