Default Emek wins big at the Pollstar poster contest again

Emek did really well again this year at the Pollstar Live Concert Industry poster contest.

Hundreds of our posters are sent in by promoters and venues, sixty were chosen and voted upon by promoters, venue management, agents, and other music industry professionals.

    And here are the winners:
    Pollstar Live! 2011 Poster Contest

He gave me a good shellacking. He won first and second place.

Is it just me, or are the only winners for the past seven years either Jefferson Wood or Emek? Makes no sense.

You'll probably have to wait for the generation of "groovy" promoters/agents/"music industry professionals" to die out before you see the current crop of gigposters crop up.

I'll be honest, none of them really did anything for me. Very skilled for sure, but I'd probably walk right to the vinyl at a show and bypass the posters.

I say props to Emek. I think he is a really nice guy and I'm fine with all that. It's weird that he wins every year, but what are we gonna do? We're gonna keep making posters and move on. He puts a lot of time into his work. Props.

Makes perfect sense to me why two of the hardest-working professionals in the field are always at the top.
